Iprobenfos is a pesticide that inhibits ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter proteins. It has been shown to have synergic effects with other pesticides and to reduce the resistance of insects to insecticides. Iprobenfos also has been shown to increase the detection sensitivity of analytical methods for pesticides, and it may be used as a diagnostic tool for metabolic rates in animals. Iprobenfos is not toxic when tested acutely on rats, but long-term studies are needed to determine its chronic toxicity.
