N-(2-Phenylethyl)cyclohexanamine is an agonist of the cannabinoid receptor. It binds to and activates the CB1 receptor, which is found in the central and peripheral nervous system. Binding to this receptor results in a number of effects, including increased appetite, decreased nausea, analgesia, and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition to its agonistic activity at the CB1 receptor, N-(2-phenylethyl)cyclohexanamine also binds to other receptors such as the serotonin 5HT1A receptor and dopamine D2 receptor. This drug is a prodrug that is converted into cyclohexanamine after it has been administered.
