Descripción:Dimenhydrinate is a drug that was initially used as an antihistamine to treat symptoms of allergies such as watery eyes, sneezing and a runny nose, however it is now used for the treatment and prevention of nausea, vertigo and motion sickness. Dimenhydrinate is a combination of diphenhydramine and 8-chlorotheophylline. Its antiemetic properties are thought to be produced from diphenhydramine’s antagonism of H1 histamine receptors. Also, it is believed to have antimuscarinic effects that minimize disturbances to the body’s equilibrium.
