This enzyme has a high enantioselectivity for esters, alcohols, and solvents. Cyclohexanepropanol, beta-methyl- is one of the most cost-effective enzymes for these reactions. The kinetic properties of this enzyme allows it to efficiently catalyze the hydrolysis of esters under mild conditions. The best results are obtained when using aryl groups with electron withdrawing substituents.
