Información del producto
5-Chloro-1H-imidazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (5CI) is a chemical compound that is used in organic chemistry. It is a pyridine derivative, which has been shown to react with amines and alcohols in the presence of irradiation, diazotisation, or electrolysis. This reaction forms pyridinium salts, which are then cleaved by hydrochloric acid or tetrafluoroboric acid to release 5CI. This reaction can also be used to produce carbenes from chlorides and diazonium salts. 5CI reacts with aluminium powder to form an adduct that yields a mixture of aluminum chloride and imidazoles. This compound has also been used as a solvent for various reactions involving amines.
