6-Aminomethylnicotinic acid is a cytotoxic agent that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. In vitro studies have shown that 6-aminomethylnicotinic acid exhibits anticancer activity against estrogen receptor positive and negative breast cancer cell lines, as well as fibroblast cells. This drug also has an inhibitory effect on estradiol conjugates and tumor growth in animal models. Studies have shown that cisplatin increases the cytotoxicity of 6-aminomethylnicotinic acid in human leukemia cells.
