It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on agriculturally-important bacteria, including those producing lipopolysaccharides. 3-(Bromomethyl)isoxazole has also been shown to have antibacterial activity and hydrogen bond interactions. 3-(Bromomethyl)isoxazole forms a boronic ester which is an important functional group in organic chemistry. This linker can also be used as a coagulant in water purification systems.
