Descripción:2-(Pentylamino)acetamide is a drug that has been shown to have inhibitory properties. It has been shown to have memory-enhancing effects and also has a depressant effect on the central nervous system. 2-(Pentylamino)acetamide is found in food composition and this compound inhibits the activity of enzymes such as dopamine β-hydroxylase, gamma-aminobutyric acid transaminase, and fatty acid synthase. This drug also binds to receptors for glutamate, which may be involved in its therapeutic effects in inflammatory bowel disease. The mechanism of action of 2-(Pentylamino)acetamide is not well understood; however it may act synergistically with other drugs such as 5-aminosalicylic acid or metronidazole.
