4-Pyrrolidin-1-yl-benzoic acid ethyl ester is a fluorescent probe that shows sensitivity to rotational motion. It has been shown to be sensitive to fluorescence spectroscopy and simulations, and can be used for the study of structural parameters. The fluorescence spectrum of 4-pyrrolidin-1-yl-benzoic acid ethyl ester is characterized by a single emission maximum at 375 nm with an excitation wavelength range between 310 and 370 nm. The emission spectrum of this compound consists of three peaks: two at 390 and 422 nm, respectively, and one at 425 nm. This compound has been shown to be useful for the quantification of argon gas in experiments when combined with iterative techniques such as simulated annealing or molecular dynamics.
