• Descripción: Quinazolin-5-amine is a nonselective adenosine receptor antagonist that binds to the A1, A2A, and A2B receptors. It has been shown to have a high affinity for these receptors and is able to inhibit the production of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), which leads to decreased intracellular calcium levels. Quinazolin-5-amine has been shown to have a potent inhibitory effect on ganglia in rats. This drug also inhibits nitroprusside-induced contractions of guinea pig ileum. Quinazolin-5-amine is used as an antihypertensive agent and as a vasodilator in the treatment of coronary heart disease.
