4-Methylfuran-3-carboxylic acid (MF) is a corticosteroid that is synthesised from the natural hormone, cortisol. It has been shown to have a number of biological properties, such as anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects. MF has been used in rodents to study its effect on various organs, including the adrenal gland, liver, kidney, heart, and spleen. This drug has also been shown to have anabolic effects on rats. MF is used in medicine for the treatment of asthma and other inflammatory conditions.
