Ssioriside is a chemical compound found in the leaves of the plant Chrysanthemum morifolium, also known as Shiso. It has been shown to have chemopreventive effects against UVB-induced skin cancer in mice and is thought to be due to its ability to inhibit reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species. Ssioriside has been shown to cause a dose-dependent decrease in the number of basophilic leukemia cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit adriamycin-induced cellular damage. This compound has also been shown to prevent skin damage induced by ultraviolet light, which may be due to its antioxidant properties. Ssioriside may have anticancer effects, as it inhibits protein synthesis and cell division. It has also been shown to bind with hyaluronic acid and health care products such as dietary supplements or functional foods that are marketed for their health benefits.END>
