It is a colorless, low-melting waxy solid, which can be dissolved in organic solvents. Dimethoxydicyclopentylsilane has been shown to be a potent control agent for the polymerization of methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate. It has also been shown to have genotoxic effects on human lymphocytes.
