GSK2879552 is a chemical compound that inhibits the transcriptional activation of genes. It is a potent competitive inhibitor of histone deacetylases (HDACs) and has been shown to inhibit the growth of leukemia cells in vitro. GSK2879552 is also an inhibitor of protein kinase C (PKC), which plays an important role in the regulation of signal transduction pathways, and can inhibit PKC-induced phosphorylation of JNK1 and p38 MAPK.
