Descripción:2-(4-Bromophenyl)-1H-imidazole is an impurity that has been found in the synthesis of 4-bromoaniline. Its luminescence properties and quantum yields have been studied using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectroscopy (MALDI TOF MS) and single photon counting methods. The efficiency of 2-(4-bromophenyl)-1H-imidazole's luminescence depends on the optical excitation wavelength, as well as its concentration. It is a phosphorescent compound with an emission maximum at 590 nm, which makes it useful for optoelectronic devices.
