Descripción:MK 8876 is a non-nucleoside inhibitor of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase and an allosteric inhibitor of the viral NS5B polymerase. MK 8876 has shown antiviral activity against HIV-1 in chimpanzees, and has been shown to be safe and effective in humans. The physicochemical properties of MK 8876 have been evaluated using a variety of techniques, including molecular modeling, X-ray crystallography, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry. The optimization of the pharmacokinetic profile of MK 8876 has also been studied. The drug was found to be orally bioavailable with good oral absorption.
