Descripción

Isoxachlortole is a growth regulator that inhibits the biosynthesis of fatty acids and lipids in plants. It has been shown to be synergistic with glyphosate, an herbicide that inhibits the synthesis of amino acids in plants. Isoxachlortole is used as an agrochemical for weed control in fields and gardens. Isoxachlortole does not inhibit the production of fatty acid from glucose but prevents the conversion of glucose to fatty acid by blocking the enzyme glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase. This compound also works as a pesticide by interfering with lipid biosynthesis and inhibiting cellular respiration.
