JZL 184 is a drug that inhibits the enzyme monoacylglycerol lipase, which is involved in the production of endocannabinoids. This inhibition leads to decreased levels of 2-arachidonoylglycerol and monoacylglycerol. JZL 184 also inhibits the synthesis of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines, leading to decreased inflammation. JZL 184 has been shown to have anti-cancer effects in mice by inhibiting tumor growth and metastasis through toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) activation. It has also been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory molecules and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) in cancer cells.
