Praliciguat is a drug that has the potential to be used in the treatment of chronic pulmonary diseases. It is a soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulator, which can promote the release of nitric oxide from endothelial cells. Praliciguat also increases insulin sensitivity and improves cardiac function in patients with chronic heart failure. Praliciguat has also been shown to improve insulin sensitivity, reduce inflammation, and inhibit viral replication in animal models of type 1 diabetes.
