It also inhibits the ns3 protease of wild-type viruses and their ability to replicate. Lomibuvir has been shown to be effective in vitro against hepatitis A virus, hepatitis B virus, and HIV. Animal studies have shown that lomibuvir is able to inhibit the replication of human liver cells infected with the Hepatitis C virus. Lomibuvir binds to ribonucleic acid (RNA) and prevents it from being translated into proteins.!-- -->Lomibuvir has good pharmacokinetic properties and can be administered orally or intravenously.
