Descripción:Telmisartan is a drug that belongs to the angiotensin II receptor antagonist class. It acts by blocking the binding of angiotensin II to its receptors, thereby inhibiting the activation of angiotensin-converting enzyme, thus causing the blood vessels to relax. Telmisartan has been shown to reduce blood pressure and improve lipid profiles in patients with hypertension and hyperlipidaemia. Furthermore, this drug has anti-inflammatory properties and with research may be useful in treating infectious diseases.
