Isomogroside V is a natural compound that belongs to the class of flavonol glycosides. It was first isolated from the fruit extract of Isoma Japonica, and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and antioxidant properties. Isomogroside V has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins in human neutrophils and macrophages. Isomogroside V also inhibits the growth of leukemia cells in culture and may be effective as an anticancer drug. This molecule has also been shown to inhibit the activity of bitter taste receptors on the tongue, which may account for its bitter taste.
