3-Bromo-9H-fluoren-9-one is a fluorescent dye that is used to measure the transport properties of cells. It can be activated by light and fluoresces at a wavelength of 527 nm, with an emission maximum at 575 nm. 3-Bromo-9H-fluoren-9-one has two isomers: cis and trans. The trans isomer has a higher photophysical nature, as it absorbed less light than the cis form. The molecule also has linkages to other molecules such as proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids, or synthetic polymers. 3Bromo-9H-fluoren-9-one can be modulated by changing its parameters such as temperature and concentration.
