Descripción:5-Bromouridine-5'-monophosphate is a nucleoside analog of uridine. It is an antiviral and antineoplastic agent that inhibits the synthesis of DNA by inhibiting the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of ribonucleosides to diphosphates, which are precursors for DNA and RNA synthesis. 5-Bromouridine-5'-monophosphate has been shown to be effective against some cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, but has not been tested on humans.
