Descripción:2-Naphthyl isocyanate (2NI) is a chemical compound that contains a hydroxyl group. It can be used to modify cellulose derivatives for use as paper additives. 2NI has been shown to bind to the hydroxyl groups present on the surface of the cellulose, improving its water resistance. 2NI has also been shown to increase mutation frequency in ovary cells, which may be useful for cancer research. This chemical is reactive and can form a variety of products with other compounds, including isothiocyanates, which are known to have antibacterial properties. 2NI also has been shown to inhibit the activity of p38 MAP kinases and may be an effective treatment for various inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and asthma.
