Descripción:Dexamethasone 21-mesylate is a glucocorticoid that is used to treat a variety of inflammatory conditions. It has been shown to inhibit the phosphatase activity of human placental cells in tissue culture and to inhibit the synthesis of heat-shock proteins. Dexamethasone 21-mesylate also inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are potent mediators of inflammation. Dexamethasone 21-mesylate has been shown to have a nonsaturable inhibitory effect on two different types of activated lymphocytes, which may be due to its ability to bind with high affinity to glucocorticoid receptors.
