Descripción:Acetophenone thiosemicarbazone is a small molecule that has been shown to have potent anti-tumor activity in both cell culture and animal models. It is a cyclic peptide that binds to the DNA of tumor cells and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death. Acetophenone thiosemicarbazone has also been shown to be effective against wild-type strains of bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. This compound is an inhibitor of efflux proteins, which are proteins that pump drugs out of bacterial cells. Acetophenone thiosemicarbazone has also been shown to inhibit RNA polymerase and other enzymes involved in DNA replication and transcription.
