Información del producto
Hexadecahydropyrene is an aromatic hydrocarbon that is found in the environment and is a product of incomplete combustion of fossil fuels. It has been shown to exhibit immunosuppressive properties, inhibiting the proliferation of T cells. Hexadecahydropyrene has also been used as a model system for studying acid formation and biological oxidation reactions. Research shows that this compound can produce an immunodeficiency-like disease in animals by suppressing the production of cytokines and chemokines. This aromatic hydrocarbon also has anti-inflammatory effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. The mechanism behind these effects is not well understood but may be due to its ability to inhibit cyclooxygenase enzymes or block the enzyme's active site with hydrogenated naphthalene rings.
