Descripción:4-Phenyl-1,2-oxazole is a catalytic anion with a systematic name of 4-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-2H-1,2-oxazole. It belongs to the class of isoxazoles and has been shown to be used as antithrombotic agents in the process of coagulation. It has also been shown that this compound can be used for the synthesis of heterocycles. The kinetic reaction rate is dependent on the concentration of proton and carboxylic acid anions. This reaction is catalysed by metal ions such as copper and nickel. 4-Phenyl-1,2-oxazole has been synthesized from phenylacetic acid through a laborious process involving chlorination and oxidation reactions.
