Descripción:Methyl 1-naphthoate is an organic molecule that has been shown to inhibit the glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3), which is a protein involved in the progression of cancer. Methyl 1-naphthoate also inhibits other proteins, such as the mcl-1 protein, which is involved in cell death. This compound has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and may be used to treat inflammatory bowel disease or fatty acid oxidation disorders. Methyl 1-naphthoate can be synthesized in a solid catalyst and has been used as an optical sensor for carbonyl groups.
