Benzyl 4-hydroxyphenyl ketone is an aromatic compound that is used as a precursor for the production of polybenzimidazole (PBI) fibers. PBI is an innovative material that has been shown to be cytotoxic to animals in high doses. It has been found to have proton-activated ligand binding and to bind selectively to the h3 receptor subtype. This agent also has a dose-dependent effect on epileptic patients, with lower doses being more effective than higher doses.
