Información del producto
4,5-Dimethylbenzene-1,2-diol is a solvent with a number of diverse applications. It is used as an intermediate in the production of phosphoranes, which are used in the manufacture of herbicides and insecticides. It also has a catabolic pathway that converts it to xylene and benzoate. The aromatic hydrocarbon can be converted to an aldehyde or hydroxylase reaction product. 4,5-Dimethylbenzene-1,2-diol is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes to form an alkoxide that reacts with glutathione to form acetaldehyde and acetate. This process can be catalyzed by NADPH and oxygen or NADH and oxygen.
