• Descripción: α-Methyl-DL-aspartic acid is an inhibitor of the enzyme aspartate aminotransferase, which catalyzes the conversion of L-aspartate to oxaloacetate. It has been used to investigate proton and pH effects on mitochondrial membrane potential and ATP synthesis in wild type and mutant yeast strains. α-Methyl-DL-aspartic acid also inhibits the synthesis of l-citrulline and other amino acids. The compound has been shown to be effective against infections caused by hl60 cells in an experimental model. !-- -->
