Nonylcyclopentane is a monocarboxylic acid that is used as a polymerization initiator. It can be used for the production of polypropylene, polystyrene, and other plastics. Nonylcyclopentane has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in human cells by inhibiting the activation of TNF-α and IL-1β. These properties are attributed to its ability to inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators such as histamine and leukotrienes.
