• Descripción: CATH-2 is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits the enterotoxin activity of E. coli, which is mediated by several strains of the bacteria. CATH-2 has been shown to be effective against enteritidis, an E. coli strain that causes food poisoning. It is not active against other strains of E. coli or Salmonella species and does not have any antibiotic effects. CATH-2 also has immunomodulatory effects and boosts chemokines such as MCP-3 and IL-8, which are chemokine receptors expressed in intestinal epithelial cells that may contribute to its anti-inflammatory properties.
