Descripción:
1-Iodo-3-methyl-2-nitrobenzene is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H5INO. It is a white solid that is used as a precursor to other compounds. 1-Iodo-3-methyl-2-nitrobenzene can be prepared by the Friedel-Crafts reaction of methyl vinyl ketone and quinoline with tetramethyl lead iodide as a catalyst. The intermediate product, methyl vinyl ketone iodide, can be dehydrated to give 1-iodo-3-methyl nitrobenzene via the dianhydride method.
