Descripción:3-tert-Butyl-1-(propan-2-yl)thiourea is a ketone that is used as a reagent for the synthesis of thioureas. It is also a precursor in organic synthesis. 3-tert-Butyl-1-(propan-2-yl)thiourea reacts with hydrochloric acid to form tertiary butyl alcohol, which then reacts with thiourea to produce 3-(propan-2-y)thiourea. This reaction yields a mixture of olefin and thioester products. The organic solvent can be removed by distillation, leaving the crystalline product behind. The final product is an aluminium salt of 3-(propan-2-y)thiourea.
