Descripción:5,6-Dimethoxynicotinaldehyde is a small molecule that has been shown to have anticancer activity. It has been shown to inhibit the transcription of androgen receptors in prostate cancer cells by binding to the DNA at these sites. 5,6-Dimethoxynicotinaldehyde also inhibits the expression of genes involved in cell proliferation and differentiation. This compound has been tested on several human cancer cell lines and was found to be active against prostate cancer cells, colon cancer cells, breast cancer cells, leukemia cells, and lymphoma cells. 5,6-Dimethoxynicotinaldehyde is not effective against normal cells due to its inability to cross the blood-brain barrier.
