Descripción

Lanreotide Acetate is a synthetic cyclic peptide with anti-cancer properties and is used for the treatment of carcinoid syndrome. It binds to somatostatin receptors and inhibits the release of hormones such as gastrin, secretin, vasoactive intestinal peptide, and pancreatic polypeptide. Lanreotide Acetate is used in the treatment of symptoms that are typical for carcinoid syndrome and can also be used in combination with goserelin acetate or triptorelin acetate for patients who do not respond to lanreotide alone. The drug has been shown to be well tolerated in clinical trials and does not show any significant toxicity.
