Descripción:7-Desmethylagomelatine is a drug candidate for the treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders. It is an analog of melatonin, and has been shown to be efficacious in healthy Chinese subjects. 7-Desmethylagomelatine is rapidly absorbed from the gut and exhibits linear pharmacokinetics with dose. The drug also binds to 5-HT2C receptors, which are involved in the regulation of sleep and appetite. A recent study has validated that 7-desmethylagomelatine is bioequivalent to standard melatonin in healthy Chinese subjects.
