Pi(3,4)P2 is a vital research tool for studying how cells respond to stimuli and for identifying new drug targets. Pi(3,4)P2 can be synthesized by reacting 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-[phosphocholine] (PC), 1,1'-bis[di(carboxylatooxy)phosphino]ferrocene (PCF), and lithium diisopropylamide (LDA).
