MDMB-CHMICA is a synthetic cannabinoid that belongs to the class of quinolinones. It is a competitive antagonist of the CB1 receptor and CB2 receptor, with no affinity for the NMDA, 5HT3, or 5HT1A receptors. MDMB-CHMICA has been shown to have high affinity for human serum albumin and human erythrocytes. The drug also has been shown to be an analytical marker in urine samples as well as being able to detect the presence of other drugs in the body. MDMB-CHMICA is used as a research tool to study acute toxicities associated with cannabinoids, such as locomotor activity.
