6-(4-Phenylpiperazin-1-yl)pyridin-3-amine is a potent inhibitor of pancreatic lipase. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of porcine pancreatic lipase in vitro and to inhibit the production of triglycerides from long chain fatty acids in vitro. 6-(4-Phenylpiperazin-1-yl)pyridin-3-amine also inhibits cancer cell growth and induces apoptosis in prostate cancer cells. This drug has been shown to have anticancer activity against a number of different types of cancers, including breast, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers.
