Descripción:SMI# 9 is a benzoate that inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by binding to PD-L1, which is a protein expressed in many types of cancer cells. SMI# 9 also has anticancer activity against breast and prostate cancers, as well as melanoma. The compound was shown to have predictive biomarker properties in an assay with human breast tumor tissue samples, which may be due to the inhibition of the expression of mcf-7. SMI# 9 binds to the triazine site on pd-l1, which prevents it from binding to its receptor and blocks the activation of immune cells.
