Descripción:Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a severe muscle wasting X-linked genetic disease cause by mutations in the gene encoding the muscle structural protein, dystrophin. Exon skipping therapy remains a key approach for treatment of DMD but still requires considerable research to improve efficient and specific delivery of molecules to myofibers. Use of a phage library identified this sequence as having a high affinity for myofibers. Conjugation of this peptide to novel DMD molecules could provide the insights needed in the field.
