• Descripción: Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA). It mimics the GLP-1 hormone, released in the gut in response to eating. Semaglutide can enhance insulin secretion and suppress glucagon section in a glucose-dependent manner. It also increases gastric emptying time and reduces intestinal motility. This combination leads to a decrease in appetite. Semaglutide has a long half-life allowing weekly subcutaneous application. Semaglutide also has positive effects on heart, liver, and lung function. Semalgutide also slows the progression of the effects of Alzheimer’s disease.This is a heavy isotype-labelled version of semaglutide that is suited to peptide quantification by mass spectrometry. This allows it to be used as an internal standard for quantification of semaglutide.
