This compound has been shown to have antimicrobial activities against Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis; Gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa; and fungi, such as Candida albicans. The mechanisms of this antimicrobial activity are not yet known.
