EGF Human is a peptide that is used as a research tool to study cell biology and pharmacology. EGF Human inhibits growth factor receptors, which are protein tyrosine kinases. It also activates the receptor for epidermal growth factor (EGF) and has been shown to have an affinity for the EGF receptor of over 10 nM. The EGF Human peptide is a ligand that binds selectively to the receptor in most cases. EGF Human can be used as an antibody or as an inhibitor of protein tyrosine kinase activity, such as that found in cancer cells.
