• Descripción: FGF4 is a protein that is encoded by the FGF4 gene. It belongs to the fibroblast growth factor family and is a potent activator of the receptor tyrosine kinase FGFR1. FGF4 activates cell proliferation and migration, as well as inducing angiogenesis. FGF4 has been shown to inhibit potassium channels in some types of cells, leading to increased neuronal activity in rats.FGF4 also binds to insulin-like growth factor receptor 1 (IGF1R) and IGF2R. It has been shown to regulate the activation of these receptors, which are known for their roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, survival, and metabolism.
