Descripción:N-Dodecylboronic acid is a boron compound that can be used to reduce other compounds. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other bacteria. The mechanism of this inhibition has not been determined, although it may be due to the functional groups on the molecule, which may interact with bacterial membranes and disrupt their function. This additive is also known to increase viscosity in fatty acid esters such as glycerin monostearate and sorbitan monostearate. N-Dodecylboronic acid is also used for its antioxidant properties that are derived from its ability to scavenge free radicals.
